Our celebrations have been somewhat muted around our first birthday with the recent crisis, but we still want to give ourselves a pat on the back for a fantastic first year!
Read on as we look back at the first year of the London Connectory – and what a year it’s been! We’ve welcomed guests from throughout the industry, engaged with many in the mobility community and grown our list of members. We look forward to building on our successes into 2020!
Let’s take a look at some highlights:
March 2019 – The London Connectory launched
We had an amazing launch with over 150 guests for the event. There were talks from London’s Chief Digital Officer – Theo Blackwell, Michael Hurwitz – Director of Innovation at Transport for London and Arun Srinivasan – Executive Vice President Bosch Mobility Solutions UK. You can read more about the launch in the press release here >>
May 2019 — A visit from the Deputy Mayor London
In May, we had the pleasure of welcoming The Deputy Mayor of London Heidi Alexander. As urban mobility is a key element of the Mayor’s overall strategy for London, it was a pleasure to host Heidi.
August 2019 – MobilityFest
For our summer reception, we welcomed leaders from London’s mobility community to join us for an evening of TED-style keynotes, networking and a BBQ on our terrace.
Thank you for speaking:
September 2019 — Insuring the future of mobility
Insuring the future of mobility was the first in many roundtable discussions. The first breakfast talk was between senior leaders concerned about the intersection between mobility and insurance. We covered challenges, opportunities and what future best practice may look like.
Have a look at our report on the discussion here >>
September 2019 — Digital X Day
Bosch’s first fully virtual digital festival – a collaboration between all the Connectory’s around the world to share insights and expertise to master marketing and sales. We added our own mobility twist to proceedings with talks from leaders in the mobility industry.
October 2019 – Tech Transport Meetup
Back in October, we hosted an edition of the Transport Tech London Meetup. We delved into the latest trends and topics surrounding the growing place that electricity has on the transport network.
Thanks to our exciting speakers and panellists:
November 2019 — Extension of TfL Partnership
In November, it was decided to continue the partnership between Bosch and TfL. This was a very important step as it ensures that we can finalise the TfL projects we are currently working on in safety at crossings and air quality.
December 2019 — Christmas at the Connectory
For the final event of 2019, we invited Bosch colleagues, mobility enthusiasts and London Connectory regulars to celebrate our successes from the year and, of course, Christmas!
January 2020 — Camera installation for safety at crossings project with TfL
In a new project between Bosch and TfL, cameras were installed on two poles outside Brixton tube station. They are now up and running and recording important safety data. This is an important achievement in the partnership and is the kick-off to the trial phase.
February 2020 – Collaboration with Chordant
London Connectory members – Chordant – have struck up a partnership with Bosch. Chordant’s oneTRANSPORT Data Marketplace will be used to share data across various Bosch programs and departments, helping improve collaboration and data sharing. It will also be possible to consume real-time data from other public and private sector organizations, supporting co-creation at the Connectory’s around the world.
February 2020 — Move 2020
In February, we attended MOVE2020. The conference is considered one of the UK’s largest dedicated mobility event, where disruptive technology and innovation drive much-needed change.
At the event, Laura Mack-Titelius presented a keynote about mobility and innovation in smart cities and the place that the London Connectory has within that ecosystem.
February 2020 — Safety in Mobility: The path to vision zero
Finally, and most recently, we hosted an evening discussion with Transport for London, gathering different perspectives from across the London mobility community and investigate how can we best tackle road danger.
Thank you to our speakers:
